Franke James and her Visual Essays

The reason what happened to Franke James is significant to what we’re learning about right now, is because even though she did nothing against the law the government still tried to stop her from making her artwork more well known. In our country we have the freedom and rights to say our opinions, yet when this woman was publishing hers the government tried to go behind everything and stop it. This relates to Fahrenheit 451 because it shows how slowly things that are supposed to be alright, all of a sudden aren’t. And because the government has so much power, they can get away with things that aren’t right, like making Franke James lose a lot of money right when she was about to hit a high point in her art career. The government is manipulative, and if our society was ever to reach the point of the one in Fahrenheit it would start slowly, with little things like what happened to Franke James.
